Ye of little faith.
I just finished reading " I Don't Have Enough Faith to be an Atheist" by Norman Geisler. I have to say, I am so glad I am a man of little faith. For if I was a man of great faith, I would be a man of little substance, narrow minded, of unimposing thought and damned to hell for all eternity. Thank you Mr. Geisler for systematically tearing down great faith and showing us all, that it is the faith of child that leads us to Salvation.

Death of an Era
As Ohio moves
away from collective bargaining for public employee's I stand near the end of
my career. It has been stunning to watch a political party, that I have
supported for years, turn on me and vilify me personally and collectively
in order to further an agenda that serves no real purpose other than to further
burden the working middle class with the irresponsibility of government.
Some have wondered why the democrats, our president in particular, have not
done more to stop this movement. I see it for what it is. Politicians,
democrats and republicans, understand that their irresponsible behavior can no
longer be supported by the existing culture. The poor are too dependent
on the government and cannot afford their own taxes and the rich will always
refuse to shoulder the responsibility of wealth. It's like the old song
my mother used to sing..."the rich get richer and the poor have
children". Our politicians will get richer and we, the middle class,
will give birth to their dreams of ultimate power.
This is the death of the era of prosperity for the working middle class. But I also see it as the death of the Republican Party. Just as the "Tea Party" movement was fostered in the wake of a health care bill no one wanted, a new breed of voters will arise and kill off these radical right wingers as well.
Personally I feel that both parties should be disbanded. This Republic is supposed to be a government by the people not by the party. Our representatives are supposed to know what the majority of their constituent’s desire and then support those desires and needs. Not the desires and needs of their political party.
Perhaps others will see the truth in this and true reform will result....but somehow I doubt it.

Gas Fart on America
Every time gas prices start to sky rocket beyond what is reasonably acceptable
we are deluged by media explanations of why it is so high. Recent stories
have told us of an oil spill, or refinery disaster, or speculation due to a
country that we get zero oil from, being in disarray. But one thing we
never hear about is how oil companies can prosper beyond comprehension during
all of these cost raising problems. WE HAVE BEEN FARTED ON AGAIN
AMERICA. But that's alright, we'll just pay $4 or $5 a gallon and gripe
about it. In other countries, when people are collectively punched in the
gut, we hear about gas stations and corporate headquarters being burned to the
ground.... I like the smell of farts...don't you?
Conspiracy?
Lately
I've been increasingly convinced that our politicians are conspiring against
us. In Ohio, our republicans are introducing legislation and budgets that
are killing off the tax base of our state. In Cleveland 123 police
officers and 51 firefighters and a couple hundred more city workers have been
laid off. These layoffs represent permanent reductions in the workforce
of these divisions. This represents a permanent decline in the safety of
our citizens. And a permanent decline in the tax base of this city and
state. Republicans want less public sector employees, who make less
money. Democrats want everyone relying on the government for everything
from health care to housing and food. The democrats need
only stand by and watch as the republicans force more people onto the
unemployment and welfare lines. When does this madness stop? It
seems to me that it is time to decrease the surplus population of people who
leach off of society. The democrats have a way to accomplish this in their
universal health care initiative. God help the poor and downtrodden when
both parties are working toward their demise.
To hell with "Tea Parties". We need a complete overthrow of government. The elimination of political parties. We need government by the people for the people. We need less government and more working class. We need a flat tax on all incomes, no tax returns, no loopholes, no deductions. Everyone pays 12% to Uncle Sam for national security and little else. Everyone pays 5% to their state for infrastructure and public safety. Sales taxes on everything purchased of 3% to support local municipalities, 2% for state issues and 2% for national issues. Put a 36 month cap on welfare benefits. Make welfare recipients pass drug tests to receive those benefits. Legalize and control marijuana sales. Give the death penalty to drug kingpins, child rapists and all murderers. Clean out our prisons by realizing that crimes against society need to be dealt with severely. Then deal with those criminals in the most severe way imaginable. No politician can serve more than two 6 year terms in any office. Do away with pensions for politicians. Let them use there service time toward their pension, but make them work for the rest of it.
Wow, what a rant!! Now that that's off my chest....time to go to work.

Are You a Darwinist?
I am beginning to become
increasingly irritated by modern sciences willingness to defy logical
thinking when it discuses the origins of life. The more I read and
study, the more I am convinced that macroevolution is a complete farce.
Logic defies science when applied to the "theories" of
evolution. Those who ascribe to the teachings of Darwin seem to align
themselves with the religion of atheism and do so at their own peril. In
fact, if Darwin were alive today, he would throw out his theories as being preposterous
in light of the advances of technology today. Cross mutation of species
is not observable, never has been and never will be. Without it,
macroevolution is un-provable and needs to be abandoned. The more likely
answer to the "origin of species" is that life was created.
This is not to say that evolution per say is to be abandoned. Microevolution is observable and does take place. Bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, plant species adapt to their environments, etc. But to say that a fish can somehow become a bird is not only preposterous, but a complete lie at worst or fairytale at best. Some would argue that the fossil record shows this transformation. But according to Henry Gee, chief science writer for Nature, “To take a line of fossils and claim that they represent a lineage is not a scientific hypothesis that can be tested, but an assertion that carries the same validity as a bedtime story—amusing, perhaps even instructive, but not scientific.” Why can't science in general come to grips with the impossibility of these theories? Maybe it's because the idea of a creator is implausible to those who have set up man as the ultimate authority on life.

What is Homosexuality?
Homosexuality is the practice of inter-gender sexuality. As such it is nothing to be feared. Consenting individuals enjoying sexual experiences with each other should not threaten heterosexuals. However we should understand that homosexuality is a perversion of normal human sexuality. We were not designed to experience sexuality in the way that homosexuals do. What we need to understand when considering legislation that would elevate homosexual acts to the level of marital acts is that, just as pedophilia or necrophilia or bestiality are acts of perversion, so are acts of homosexuality.
